The Brief

Working on behalf of a well-established builder/property developer our team were appointed to secure planning permission and building regulations approval for the construction of two new detached properties in the village of Honley, Holmfirth.

Our Approach

Collaborating closely with our client, a local builder and developer, we designed two modern family homes that matched their brief and specifications. These homes were intended to appeal to contemporary family lifestyles by featuring a large open-plan kitchen, living and dining space, a utility room, a lounge, family bathroom and four bedrooms, incorporating a master suite complete with an en-suite bathroom and walk-in wardrobes.

Considering the village setting and our client’s requirements, we incorporated local natural coursed stone combined with render for a sleek modern look. The design also included a single-story construction to the rear, which was built from sawn stone ashlar, equipped with a flat roof and roof lights to introduce more daylight. A large, glazed feature window was also integrated into the front facade to maximise natural light and enhance the modern aesthetic.

The properties were fitted with dark grey UPVC windows throughout, further emphasising the modern design and ensuring that the homes presented a cohesive contemporary appearance.

Our team provided full detailed drawings and after obtaining necessary planning approvals and building regulations, we offered ongoing advice and support through to project completion.

The Result

The creation of a stunning pair of contemporary four-bedroom family homes set in the picturesque village of Honley. The properties captured significant interest and sold quickly, reflecting their appeal and the successful realisation of our client's vision.
